What do I do if a professional licensing board or agency inspector shows up at my business and wants to do an inspection on it? This does not really happen a lot with many licensed professionals that own businesses, but it does happen. For example, it happens with licensed cosmetologists and licensed barbers [21 NCAC 14H .0503 and 21 NCAC 06L .0118]. There may be inspections that are required on those administrative codes for cleanliness, sanitation, etc. So if you are a licensed professional where sanitation may be an issue, then most likely there’s going to be a requirement for inspections by an inspector or investigator. Once they come in and complete their inspection, they will give you a grade and then go from there [21 NCAC 14H .0504 and 21 NCAC 06L .0119].
So although this does not happen a lot, if you are in an industry where sanitation might come into play, you are most likely going to be required to adhere to inspections when an inspector comes by at your place of business.
